Long-lasting finishes

Powder coating is a dry paint that involves no mixing of solvents. It offers an excellent finish and better performance in comparison to traditional painting or metal coating procedures.

Its superior performance over conventional coating methods is due to two key features: it is environmentally-friendly and is highly resistant to corrosion.

Powder coating treatment for hiding imperfections

Powder particles contain resins, modifiers, pigments, extenders and, if it’s a reactive system, a curing agent. A single coat provides high film thickness and offers a more pronounced effect in hiding imperfections – two of the main reasons why it is popular in the architectural and metal finishing industries.

The application of powder coating is done using an electrostatic spray. It functions similarly to a magnet being attracted to steel. The coated part is grounded, and the powder is charged, resulting in an adhesive bond.

Why it is better than traditional solvent-borne paints?

  • More environmentally-friendly: It contains near-zero VOCs, and roughly 99% of over-spray powder can be recovered and reused. Additionally, it does not pollute the environment with hazardous waste (no air and water pollutants).
  • More reusable: Powder coating offers less wastage than conventional liquid coatings.
  • More durable: The coated surface is resilient against scratching, fading, chipping and wearing. Colours stay vibrant and bright for longer periods of time.
  • More energy-efficient: It reduces energy costs.
  • More heat resistant: Can easily withstand high temperatures.
  • More practical: It does not require any solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in liquid form.
  • More aesthetically-diverse: A large variety of textures, colours and designs can be used.
